Hearing that little “woo hoo” is enough to bring a smile to my face any time of the day! I’ve loved Mario for a long time, and I was really happy to see Galaxy be released. Finally we got a Mario that was in true 3-d and that wasn’t a sports game! And it absolutely, totally, and completely rocked. The game was everything I wanted it to be. Actually it did surprise me how long it took for me to be able to get used to the total 3-d-ness about it. Going around the planets was the hardest to get used to, but after I played it for a half an hour or so it seemed like second nature and like every game was that way.
I’ve now been doing tons of research about Super Mario Galaxy 2 and how amazing it’s going to be. I’ve learned all about the fact that we’ll finally get to have an ice world again – which is amazing – and how we actually get to use Yoshi this time!
I can’t, however, figure out much more about the second player option. I really didn’t like the second player option in the first Galaxy. It seemed clunky and weird – not really much like a true second player game. The game didn’t really allow the second player to do much, other than collect stars, and while that may be okay for young children, as an adult that isn’t very much fun to play at all. I’m in serious hopes that the makers of the game have changed the second player option in Super Mario Galaxy 2 Wii. It would actually be tons better if we were able to play mini games, or even if you could have two Marios (okay, one could be Luigi) in the game.
I’ll definitely be purchasing this game, only because I love Mario and I love most Nintendo games, but I do hope that they have ironed out some of the kinks this time, as that would make the game only that much more amazing and that much more special and enjoyable to play.
