Super Mario Galaxy 2

I love playing Mario games! Seriously! I actually worry, though, that I’m not taken seriously on online gaming boards due to the fact that I love Mario. I mean, it’s not like Mario games are anywhere near as sophisticated as some of the other games out there, and the graphics, as many have complained, aren’t anywhere near what the graphics are like on the other games. But this doesn’t bother me. I love Mario games just because of how fun they are. I mean, where else can you get a little plumber running around and saving the world by turning into other animals and creatures?

I’m not sure, though, if I’m going to like Super Mario Galaxy 2. I know that I’ll buy it, that’s for sure, because there isn’t a Mario game around that I don’t own a copy of, but from what I’ve seen it looks pretty similar to the last Galaxy game, which was great, don’t get me wrong, but I hope that the designers and script writers do a better job this time around. I’d like to see more depth in the storyline. Last time it was a bit confusing to follow – all you knew is that you were helping Rosalie to save the galaxy (and rescuing Luigi every time you turned around – what was that all about anyway?). Why not have a bit of a better storyline – one where you not only helped Rosalie and Peach but where you didn’t have to rescue Luigi’s sorry behind every time you turned around?

And would it kill the writers to bring in new character? They did great with Rosalie, but how about some other new characters in Super Mario Galaxy 2 Wii? I’d love to see some more smaller secondary characters, like Toad is or like the Boos are. The star guys? I didn’t really get into them last round, and while chasing the rabbit was kind of fun, it was kind of annoying too. Bring in a better storyline and some new characters, please, writers.
