Super Mario Galaxy 2

I was introduced to Mario when I was in college, and by then he’d been around for a long time, but us girls aren’t really supposed to love video games, at least not the way that I do! Anyway, by the time I was introduced to him there were a number of different video games starring Mario out. I actually made it a point to get all of the games that I could and to play them all through to the end. And, believe it or not, I actually did!

Then Galaxy came out for the Wii and it was like Mario was brought to a whole new world! I loved seeing him in the 3D virtual world and having even more control in moving Mario around. And here I thought Paper Mario was cool – this was a great deal better. Now that I know that Super Mario Galaxy 2 is going to be coming out I’m really excited to see what the designers are going to do this time. From what I’ve seen it looks pretty similar to the first Mario, with Mario flying through space in order to save the world, once again.

But I really miss not being able to play other characters. I loved in the original Mario games how you could play Peach and Luigi and even how you could have Toad run around in the virtual world. Why can’t we do this again? Why can’t we have Peach and Toad and Luigi to choose from? Or even Bowser! Can you imagine what it would be like being Bowser for a game? He’s a great character to play in Brawl, he’d be a great character to play in the next Galaxy game.

Yes, the one thing I’d really like to see from Super Mario Galaxy 2 Wii is the ability to play other characters, even if you could only play them for a short amount of time. That would definitely make the game feel much more like the older games and would give us Mario fans something to really look forward to!
