When you play lots of video games you are limited with what you can do with a character. If, for instance, you’re playing a shooter game, you can generally only do shooting stuff. You may be able to get different guns, but that doesn’t mean that you can actually do different things. One of the things that I’ve always loved about Mario is that you can do different things with him. He starts out as a simple plumber, who then grows taller, and who then can shot fire. You can then also do tons of other stuff with him, thanks to the suits, allowing you to be able to turn into a whole new character almost.
And while I’m excited to see Super Mario Galaxy 2 Wii, I’m not really that excited to see that it looks like they used the same old suits that they used in the last Galaxy. Yeah, playing a bee was fun, and playing a ghost (or Boo) was great, but do we have to do them again? Why can’t we have different suits? Why can’t Mario have a suit like a Frog Suit, or lets bring back the Hammer Bros. suit! That suit was great and really kicked butt. You could beat almost any main boss if you had the Hammer Bros. suit on. But instead we get the Boo suit or the bee suit again? What’s up with that Nintendo?
I mean, I’ll definitely be buying Super Mario Galaxy 2 Wii, simply because I totally love Mario, but that doesn’t mean that I think that they should leave the suits the same. Come on design people, we need new suits! How about bringing back some of the old favorites, or creating entire new ones! What about an elephant suit or a kangaroo suit. Or how about a cat suit or something else that’s different? There are lots of ideas. Even a bat suit would be cool! Or would that be going more towards the Batman franchise? I’m not sure, I just know I want the designers to give us more suits please!
